Fascism, Glenn Beck and how to survice true fascism
A lesson in Fascism, by Glen Beck
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines Fascism as thus.

Ok Lets take that Piece by Piece in comparison
Fascism is a radical and authoritarian nationalist political ideology
Neo-Conservatism is a political philosophy that emerged in the United States of America, and which supports using American power, including military force, to bring democracy and human rights to other countries.
Fascism is also a corporatist economic ideology
Neo-Conservatism is generally comfortable with a minimally-bureaucratic welfare state; and, while generally supportive of free markets, they are willing to interfere for overriding social purposes
Fascism advocates the creation of a single-party state
Neo-Conservatism wants you all to listen to them (see Rush Pigslaw), and know that with them in absolute control everything would be hunky dory.

There are several things here that Glenn Beck forgot to mention in is diatribe about the fascio bundles, fascism and the Mercury Dime. The first is that no matter how you define Fascism, the type of government perfected by Glenn Beck and his whacked out followers....is.....Fascism. He told me to blook up the definition. I did.
One of the more startling statements about the mercury dime, is that it was first minted in 1916, the start of Woodrow Wilson's second term. And, Yes, Pres. Wilson most likely approved of the symbolism on the reverse, The ax, bundled with rods, tied together with a wreath of peace. To him and to most people who looked at that symbol on the back of those dimes for the first time, probably saw Unity is strength. But Glenn Beck Still gets it wrong when he ids Wilson with "Progressive Fascism".
This Little Fascist Symbol was our way of saying we are ready to fight, but would prefer peace. But...ummm, at the time it wasn't fascist, it was just another Roman symbol. It wasn't until 1919 when Mussolini adopted it for the symbol du jour. People back then did noticed, but didn't change it till 1946.
Ideologically speaking, Wilson and Beck would get along quite well. Wilson was the President who Incorporated segregation into American society, Fired off back political leaders and officers. Glenn Beck with love nothing more than to do the same with what ever he hates for that moment.

And it seems Beck isn't the first nut job to imply a link between the dime and Fascism. This is from a 2007 article in Numismatic News:

Why? Fundametalism and the US military
OH SHIT.
Why are they doing this? Don't these people know that even handing out chick tracks in a public school by teachers are enough to get them fired.
Handing out translations of the bible is dangerous. And they don't even speak the language. But for honesty stake, most like the villiagers are just burning them for fuel, bibles and paper do make good starters.

The fundamentalist force
This gripping saga of Evangelical Fundamentalist Christianity has always insisted upon a literal interpretation of the Bible. They use it to teach their children to read, they use to teach their children history, they use it to punish. It is their moral compass, forgetting that it was developed 3000 years ago as a guide not a tool.
In this literal interpretation, Conservative leaders have used it as an example of staying the course,
Firstly the Congressman, by clear definition, does not have the right to supersede the separation of church and state in his capacity as a congressman. His statement is not inline with his specific allowance as a free speaker, for he is not a free speaker, he speaks for his district. Unless his district encompasses 100% his opinion and view, then his his opinion is not valid in the mode of law maker. He must make his decisions based on the nature of the problem from an informed standpoint, separate from his personal belief system.
Quoting from the bible, in a discussion regarding the state of our country's natural health, is a clear violation of the trust of the people that he would make decisions based on the needs of the people. There is no part of the bible that discusses modern problems and their solution, because so many of our problems would have insurmountably huge to those people. They after all believed the earth was flat, that god will take the problem away.
But we have learned in the last 2000 years that god will not take the problems away, they only get more compounded. We need leadership in new directions from the law of the land 2000 years ago.
Even our education, promised to us by our government, is not immune to this sort of inanity,
Education is our ticket to competitiveness. When we are able to think in fashions outside of determined dogma, we are able to develop ideas exclusive of past. A failure, in the eyes of the religious fundamentalist, is something absolute, but a failure to a person trying to succeed is a learning experience.
The teachers, who want students to move forward, are instead forced to succumb to the will of the strong. Like the politician, the teacher does not have the freedom to stray from the dictated teaching schedule. A teacher cannot teach French in Algebra class, no matter how much they desire to teach French.
Nor can a teacher teach anything other than Science in a science class. But if the School board says to teach "This great thing that looks a lot like our religion" in science class, and the teachers want to keep their job, then they must teach it. On the flip side, a teacher cannot teach Sunday school class in a public school.
Teachers do not have free speech rights to divert from the proscribed curriculum.

The religious philosophy which sparks the hatred we see today, that of fundamentalist Christianity, formats itself in a special way. It is represented by "Those Who Cannot Let Go" politicians, pundits, preachers, deciders and losers. It has no real leadership anymore, it is a vocal minority.
They are like children, wanting to have it their way, forever feeding off of tradition and moral values. When a society uses morals values of the society in general, it can be strong. But it is the Moral of society, and not traditional morals based on stagnation, which make it stronger.
Our society is strong because the growth of social norms and acceptance of a variety of different norms as compatible. We have become the Maxist society dreamed about, but quite unfulfillable because our social norms dictate that we must find acceptable social morals and incorperate them into our own.
For generations out world has been dominated by the Moral Majority. These are people whom consult 3000 year old documents to guide our national social moral behavior. Most of them have not diviated from this path of debilitating struture because it is profitable. For the most part this cadre of conservatives called "The Good Old Boys".
Think of them as a gang, and we are in a gang war with the "GOB". Little things that add up are important to them, like bridges and good jobs, including military training. Remember it was a liberal who stopped the draft.
Our healing and growing society is merging globally. No more with a Vocal Minority take absolute control. Haven't we've seen what in the end must happen, the Ba'aath party of Iraq was a vocal conservative minority. Crumbling are the day of the conservative movement in China, communism only works when the people are free to cooperate with society and government.
Government is there is make sure bad things don't happen to anybody.
Our laws are drafted accounting to a set of what the government's moral code is in dealing with the citzens of it's nation. It's role is to develope laws which do not strain the populace with beurocricy, but at the same time fulfill its need to grow and develop itself. Government is a different society from Human society. Though made up of humans, the are the pariah we must avaiod losing succor with.
In order to function our society needs government to maintain a distance from us, but be ever present should mediation is needed in personal disputes. Government must not impose the moralistic values of its membership on it citizens, it must impose a moralistic value upon itself, which must stand aside from Social morality.
The ever increasing problem is not the minority who feels left out, it is the minority that is not left out. This one controls by tell us what to think, what type of people we are to have, what we are allowed to do, and what type of people we want to become. Small government means more government trying to keep us behind, whereas large government means less government control.
Fundamentalist Christianity need to get out of our schools, out of our homes and out of our lives. It needs to cease being a busybody and start acting like a member of our society or it just needs to die out, fade into nothing.
